"We were so thrilled to be included on the Vinyl soundtrack, and making this video for 'No Good' was a blast," Kaleo guitarist-singer JJ Julius Son told Rolling Stone. "We shot it at United Record Press in Nashville. When we heard about Vinyl, we loved the vibe and jumped at the chance to contribute to it. As a huge fan of both Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese, it's an honor for me personally to be a part of project that they've created." "When we were looking for new songs for the Vinyl soundtrack, Kaleo immediately stood out," Atlantic Records executive and Vinyl soundtrack co-producer Kevin Weaver told RS. "From the first listen, I thought the driving guitar riffs and gritty vocal style on 'No Good' were a perfect fit, and also seemed like an ideal candidate to pitch for the trailers and TV spots, even though they were a brand new band to most U.S. listeners." |
"We got a phone call from the label, saying that Scorcese and Jagger wanted this song...we hadn't finished recording it, we were in the middle of touring and i had to jump into the studio in Pittsburgh to cut the vocals...we only had a handful of days to finish the song, but i mean obviously we were excited and happy to be a part of it." |
