Hljómey Music Festival 2026

Hljómey is an Icelandic music festival in Vestmannaeyjar, held every year on the last Friday of April. They organize local public spaces and personal living rooms where local artists play, and release the program lineup only about a week before the festival begins.

Guests receive wristbands in exchange for their tickets. Once you have your wristband, walk from house to house and see whichever artists you like -- up to four or five in one night if you're lucky!

This clip of "Hey Gringo" and "Wild Mountain Thyme" (also known as "Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?") was performed by JJ and Junius Meyvant at this year's Hljómey festival in Iceland.
